This District of Columbia (DC) flag accurately represents our country's capital. The nation's capital was first established on June 11, 1800 when President John Adams moved into the White House. The entire city was actually designed by French architect Pierre Charles L'Enfant. The official flower is the American Beauty Rose, the official tree is the Scarlet Oak, and the official bird is the Wood Thrush.
A commission was setup in 1920 to design a flag, and the currently accepted flag was adopted in 1938. Inspiration for the flag came from a shield in George Washington's family's coat of arms.
The flags are available in seven (7) different sizes, from 3' x 5' all the way up to 8' x 12', which means you can display a flag at your home, as well as outside your business! Please call us with any questions you may have! 1.800.274.7001.
