This is the 43 star flag of the US.

The new stars on this flag represent the States of Idaho, Montana, North Dakota,
South Dakota, and Washington.

This flag was flown from July 4, 1890-July 3, 1891.

By law, stars must be added to the flag the 4th of July directly after the State is introduced into the union. All of these original US Flags with applique stars ARE legal to fly at any time.
